A paver surface may look good at installation but depend over time on keeping finish material separate from support exposed to moisture. Masonry Sand is washed and smooth for mortar, stucco applications, grouting, and paver detail work. Its texture helps mortar stay workable during placement and gives visible masonry a clean, orderly appearance. Outside masonry work, it is also appropriate for sand boxes and volleyball courts, where a soft feel is preferred.
Yazoo clay and other wet Mississippi ground can make pad preparation important before visible work begins. For pavers, first prepare the supporting base, then use Masonry Sand beneath the pavers as a leveling bed. Finished grade should shed water away from the project. This keeps the sand for smooth surface-stage work rather than asking it to correct unstable ground.

Common Uses
Mortar & Stucco Mixing
For mortar, stucco, and grout, mason sand provides a fine aggregate with even-sized grains. It helps make mixes easy to spread, smooth to finish, and able to form strong masonry bonds.
Paver Installation
Place mason sand under pavers to level the setting bed, then use it to fill the joints of interlocking pavers. The fine material settles into joints and leaves an even base layer.
Sandboxes & Play Areas
Washed mason sand has a soft texture for children's sandbox and play-space use. With sharp material and impurities removed through washing, it feels easier on skin.
Volleyball & Play Areas
Mason sand can be used for volleyball court surfacing. Its soft, uniform texture makes barefoot play more comfortable and helps cushion impacts.
Why Choose Masonry Sand
Fine, Even Feel
Washing and fine grading give mason sand a uniform, smooth texture. This material is useful where mortar and finish work call for a clean, workable sand.
Washed Material
The washing process removes silt, debris from organic material, and clay from mason sand. The resulting material supports clean mortar mixes and recreation surfaces.
Consistent Grain Size
Evenly graded mason sand performs consistently in mortar, paver leveling, and recreation areas. The uniform particles help each application behave predictably.
Safe for Recreation
Mason sand has a clean, soft texture suited to sandboxes, playgrounds, and sports courts. It gives play spaces a gentle surface for children and visitors.
